If you are wondering why I have been gone the title of this post has something to do with it but not in some weird way like my son is cross dressing as Shirley Temple and singing on the street corners of San Francisco but in a my son watches to much tv way. Last week me and Daylan came home and sat down in front of the tv like we normally do when we first walk in the door (okay deem me a bad parent but hey I need to unwind for a few minutes after work) and the Shirley Temple Little Darling Box Set commercial came on I think we may have seen it a few times before and as soon is it cam on my son jumped up and started singing word for word to the commercial as well as busting out in her dance moves.

Living with Mr. OCD
I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t call my son crazy, I know that is bad of me as his mother but I think that he is a little on the nutty side. He is a beautiful child full of life and joy but he is completely obsessive. I have been told countless times that its merely just a phase but I am truly starting to question what people have been telling me because I have never known a phase that lasted 3 years.
Daylan is 3 years old and I swear he has OCD. If you think I am lying let me give you a rundown of the craziness that has gone on in my house for the last three years.
The first time I noticed it was when he was about one he would play so nicely and quietly with his cars. He would spend hours lining them up just right and if you happened to touch just one of them he would freak out and have to redo the entire process. It was actually pretty comical to watch him tear them all apart and then have to line them all back up perfectly. This has continued on in to today.

Daylan's Tip of the Day: Don't Draw on the Couch
Daylan got in trouble today after I warned him if he was going to color to not draw on anything but the paper. I also made it a point to say do not by any means draw on the couch. Well what of course did he do draw on the couch.
He wanted to let all of you out there know what not to do. (Notice in the video he stops and looks to the side he is looking at the spot where he drew on mommy's couch).

The Smell of Vomit in the Morning
The little things that happen as a mommy that make you think what in the world did I get into this for. Last night had walked upstairs and left Daylan on the couch watching the Upside Down Show and I noticed while I was up there that it had gotten far to quite downstairs and I needed to check on Daylan. When I made it to the couch he was hanging over the side not saying anything. I thought that he was playing and told him to lay down he didn't move so I walked around to the front of the couch and discovered that my little on was extremely sick. He had lost all is dinner over the side of the couch and all over the spot he was sitting in. Then the all of a sudden the smell hit me and I thought that I was going to be sick myself. I told Daylan to stay there and that I would go and get him a towel. I went in the closet donned the big protective gloves and went to work cleaning him and the all the things he had thrown up on up.
I finally had gotten everything cleaned up and carried him upstairs and gotten him in bed. He kept telling me "Mommy I sick, Mommy I sick....my tummy hurts I sick" I told him that I knew and that laying down would make him feel better. I went to my office to do some work when I heard the sound of gagging coming from down the hall. I instantly jumped up to find him sitting up with more vomit all over himself the bed and the floor. But before I saw all of that I walked into the dark room and was immediately met with chunks between my toes. I instantly lost it and ran to the bathroom to be sick. Never never before have I felt as sick as I did that moment and I have been at this for the last 3 years. And then I witnessed by far the nastiest thing in the entire world....

Daylan and the Invisibles
I really thought when we moved from Kansas to California we had gotten rid of the Invisibles but apparently they followed us halfway across the country.
You may be asking who the invisibles are well there are about four of them; a girl, two boys and a monster. Yes that’s right a monster. Apparently my son made up a bunch of people that he can’t stand to follow him around and bug him to the point that he breaks out in full fledged arguments with them.

Mommy Ouchie Kissing is REVOKED
So we all have kids here atleast you might well they get hurt and they want kiss on the ouchie and they need you to make a real big deal about. Well my son's ouchie kissing privliges are revoked.
Why!? You may ask. Well let me tell you...
I was cool with kissing your forehead, forearm, your leg, your finger (God knows where thats been) but you come to me looking all sad and pitiful and really expect me to kiss you butt because you fell down and landed on it. Well no more I say no more ouchie kissing for you little man. When I became a mom I signed up for a lot of things but being a butt kisser wasn't one of them.
Sorry mommy has limits too!!!

A Lesson in Washing Hands w/ Daylan
Daylan loves washing his hands so much he wanted to show you all how it is done. He just really likes being in front of the camera.
Satruday Mornings
I love waking up Saturday morning to a little voice saying "Mommy what are you doing, I need to eat oatmeal" I also love sitting way to close on the couch because Daylan seems to think he needs to squeeze in to the little space between me and the arm of the couch but hey what can you ask for this is the life.

Disciplining Daylan
Yesterday was a tough day in my world. Daylan and I went to Wal*Mart to pick up some bread and he fell completely apart as I was pushing the cart because I refused to buy him any pop tarts (because we already had some at home). I told him that we had the pop tarts at home and thats when the screaming started and didn't stop until we got home. In the process he tried to hit me with a hat. I told him that his actions just gave him a one way ticket to bed and no television with dinner being eaten alone in his room.
Hot Debate: To Cut or not to Cut that is the Question?
So there are a few people that think that it is time for my little Daylan to get a haircut. I personally love his long curly hair but love to hear what you all think.
Here is a picture of Daylan and his hair in all of its glory taken a few weeks ago...

Adventures in Potty Training
Not so recently I began the great potty training adventure and I must say that it started out as a very very rocky road but after a ton of hard work and determination (mostly a little luck) success occurred.
