Disciplining Daylan

Yesterday was a tough day in my world. Daylan and I went to Wal*Mart to pick up some bread and he fell completely apart as I was pushing the cart because I refused to buy him any pop tarts (because we already had some at home). I told him that we had the pop tarts at home and thats when the screaming started and didn't stop until we got home. In the process he tried to hit me with a hat. I told him that his actions just gave him a one way ticket to bed and no television with dinner being eaten alone in his room.

So we finally made it home the 5min drive felt like forever. Daylan got out of the car and didn't argue with me he just went right up to his room and got in his bed. I sat him down and I talked to him in a way that he could understand about what he had done wrong he looked at me with those big green eyes and said "Okay mommy" I then asked him if there was anything else he wanted to say and he looked up at me again and said "I'm sorry mommy" and then he got up and gave me a hug. I didn't let that get him off that easy he still had to go to bed early with no TV and dinner in his room.

He woke up this morning and he was in a much better mood. A little talk and some sleep go a long way.
