We are all moms here and so whenever I hear about something that could affect our little ones it is my duty to let you all know.
Graco has started recalling over 2 million of its larger strollers due to children slipping between the seat and the tray and becoming trapped. This hits close to home because I have one of these larger strollers and I don’t know how many times I had forgotten to buckle my son in and I would look just in time to see him slipping down. By the grace of God I caught him in time.
It has been reported that between 2003 and 2005 four children have died as a result of being trapped between the seat and the tray. There have also been many other reports rolling in of children sustaining numerous injuries after being trapped in there strollers. The Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that if babies aren't strapped into the strollers properly, they can slide through the opening between the stroller tray and bottom of the seat — where they can get stuck and be strangled.
Please any of my readers who currently have small children please check to make sure that you do not have one of the strollers being recalled. I personally no longer use these types of stroller and just use a small umbrella stroller if any.
All of the stroller that are being recalled were made before 2008. More information on the model numbers involved in the recall can be found at the company's website, www.gracobaby.com.
